Steel Blue Hi-PA
Not all toe caps are created equal. Steel Blue™ High Impact Polymer Alloy (Hi-PA™) non-metallic safety toe caps are independently certified to Australian/New Zealand, European and American safety footwear standards and offer the following benefits.
40% lighter than steel toe caps
Will not set off security alarms and metal detectors
Can be X-rayed
Will not transmit electricity
Does not conduct heat or cold, insulating toes in extreme conditions
Will not rust
Heat resistant to 60ºC/140ºF
Resist acid, alkali and fuel oil (impact tested after immersion for 24 hours in sulphuric acid, sodium hydroxide solution and trimethylpentane (Isooctane))
All Hi-PA styles come with the ‘Steel Blue Difference’ features and comply with Australian AS/NZS 2210.3, American ASTM F2413 (Previously ANSI Z41) and European EN 345:S1 safety footwear standards
Fit For Purpose – Choosing the Right Toe Cap for the Job!
Whilst non-metallic safety toe caps offer a range of benefits, they are not suitable for all work environments so it is important that you choose safety footwear carefully.
Non metal composite materials such as that used in Hi-PA toe caps do not have the same cut and penetration resistance as steel safety toe caps and should not be used around powered cutting or grinding devices or nail guns. There are special safety footwear standards for chainsaw boots and speciality footwear is recommended for this purpose.
